1,353 minors were arrested for 1,201 cases in September in Greece, with the majority of arrests in Athens, Attica.

The Hellenic Police acts, within the framework of its responsibilities, for the safety of the youth, dealing with the delinquency of minors in Attica and throughout the Territory.
In September, a total of 1,353 minors were arrested for various crimes, while a total of 1,201 cases were filed for the same number of cases. Among other things, from the elements throughout the Greek territory, last month the following were arrested:
86 for causing bodily harm,
17 for rape or insulting sexual dignity, sexual acts with or in front of minors, pornography of minors,
242 for violations of road safety,
28 for violation of weapons legislation,
75 for narcotic substances,
292 for property crimes (thefts, robberies),
2 for abduction of minors,
7 for criminal organisation, 8 for dishonesty and 4 for violence against officials and judges persons,
9 for forgery, 4 for arson and
16 for threat.
The majority of arrests were recorded in Attica, where among others,
33 were arrested for causing bodily harm,
10 for rape or sexual acts with or in front of minors, pornography of minors,
12 for violations of the Code of Criminal Procedure. and road safety,
13 for violation of weapons legislation,
19 for addictive substances,
147 for property crimes (thefts, robberies).
The Greek Police and their local Directorates will continue to act within the framework of their responsibilities for the safety of the youth, dealing with due sensitivity to phenomena of juvenile delinquency, an issue that concerns many countries at a pan-European level.
