The audience of the popular website voted for Crete, Samos and Corfu in the first three places of the ranking with percentages of 16%, 10% and 10%, respectively, based on the intention to travel to Greece in the new season.
Next are Zakynthos, Kefallonia, Kos, Lefkada, Peloponnese, Lesvos and Karpathos.
As reported by the website griekenland.net, trusted by thousands of repeat Dutch visitors to Greece, Crete is the favourite island of the Dutch, Samos wins impressions with its beautiful villages and enchanting walking routes, and Corfu makes a dynamic return to the top of the list.
A representative of one of the destinations that stood out in the top three, namely the new mayor of Eastern Samos, Paris Papageorgiou, said: "Samos has that 'yeast' of characteristics that differentiate it on the international stage. The new distinction in the Dutch market is yet another indication of the destination's uniqueness and popularity. Our concern will be to introduce to the travelling public from Greece and abroad all aspects of Eastern Samos, highlighting, in particular, the authenticity, gastronomy, history, culture, alternative activities, natural beauty and quality of services as a combination that offers travellers an unrepeatable experience."
