This is seen as a significant victory for the Greek-American community and the Greek lobby in the United States.
Notable among the winners is Nicole Malliotakis, a Republican representing New York’s 11th District, who secured a third term with 64.7% of the vote. Malliotakis, who is of Greek and Cuban descent, has been a key figure in Congress since 2021 and is the only female Republican officeholder in New York.
Also re-elected was Chris Pappas, a Democrat from New Hampshire's 1st District, who won with 54.4% of the vote. Pappas, who first entered Congress in 2018, has built a strong reputation for advocating for the Greek-American community.
Newcomer Mike Haridopolos, a Republican from Florida’s 8th District, won his first term with a commanding 62.3% of the vote. He expressed his gratitude to voters and pledged to work tirelessly for his constituents.
Gus Bilirakis, a Republican from Florida’s 12th District, was re-elected for another term, continuing his long tenure in Congress, while Dina Titus, a Democrat from Nevada’s 1st District, is poised for re-election, leading her opponent with 51.1% of the vote.
In addition to these figures, Maggie Goodlander, a Democrat from New Hampshire’s 2nd District, secured a victory, further solidifying the Greek-American presence in Congress.
With these wins, Greek-American influence in U.S. politics remains strong, particularly as the community continues to advocate for issues impacting both the U.S. and Greece.
