The museum stated it is working to restore full functionality but temporary exhibitions will remain closed throughout the weekend, with affected ticket holders being offered refunds.
This incident follows the recent revelation of approximately 1,500 missing or stolen items from the museum’s collection which included ancient Greek pieces and last year’s legal action against former curator Dr. Peter Higgs.
