Tsitsipas wins his Second open title

By 4 years ago

After his victory in 2019, Stefanos Tsitsipas has captured his second title at the Open 13 Provence. The greek defeated the likes of Canadian teen ager Felix Auger-Aliassime 6/3 6/4 in 1h26 mins

Stefanos Tsitsipas is undefeated in Marseille since 2018. Better yet, during his consecutive victorious campaigns the world number 6 never dropped a set. He is therefore on a 8 match and 16 set winning streak.

Auger-Aliassime has to be envious of these stats, he who has yet to lift a winners trophy in 5 attempts.

But this Sunday had Stefanos Tsitsipas written all over it. The Greek started off the match kicking and never left a chance to his opponent in the first set. 6/3.

All week long, FAA was able to produce breath taking comebacks, but not today. Despite some signs of a comeback in the second set with a break back at 3-3, Felix was not able to overcome the strength and determination of Tsitsipas. Final score 6/3 6/4.

It is the 3rd time since the tournament was created that a player was able to capture back to back titles. Thomas Enqvist and Marc Rosset were the only two to have managed such a performance in the past.

Stefanos becomes the first man to retain the @Open13 since Thomas Enqvist in 1998.
