634 asylum seekers moved from Samos to former military facility in Athens

By 4 years ago
Authorities have confirmed the transfer of some 634 asylum seekers to a former military accommodation facility at Ritsonas, in Attiki, from the reception and identification facility on the island of Samos.
The asylum seekers in question are classified as belonging to 'vulnerable' groups. This typically may include people with health issues, unaccompanied children and so forth.
The ferry 'Nissos Chios', which will carry the asylum-seekers to Piraeus, remains docked at Lesvos but will sail as soon as weather conditions allow it.
