Greek police reported an increase in the curfew violations imposed by the Government to contain the spread of coronavirus in Greece.
According to authorities the violations had reached 974 incidents by Saturday with the majority of cases recorded in the major cities and Ionian islands.
Specifically, police said that violations of curfew were recorded in the region of Attica (319), on the Ionian islands (109), on Crete (114), in Thessaloniki (85), in Western Greece (65), in the Peloponnese (48), in Central Macedonia (69), in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (17), in Thessaly (19), on the islands of the North Aegean (16), in Central Greece (5), in Epirus (58), on the islands of the North Aegean (46) and in Western Macedonia (14).
It is noted that a total of 20,084 violations have been recorded since the first day of the measures.
Police also said that 348 persons have been arrested in total since March 12, the first day of measures restricting shop operation.
