Santorini.
The Greek islands are in top demand for German holidaymakers, said the president of the Association of Travel Agents (DRV) Norbert Fiebig.
Fiebig expressed his belief that this year it will be possible for tourists to return to their favourite destinations, such as Greece, Turkey and Spain.
According to Fiebig at the ITB International Tourism Fair in Berlin, which is being held online this year, bookings for summer vacations are slowly increasing and now reach 26% of 2020 bookings.
There is a special demand for Greece and Turkey, he added.
However, he pointed out that it will be a success if German tourist traffic returns to 50% this summer from the pre-pandemic era.
He said that organised tourism recorded a decline of 65% last year, “turning the market 30 years back.”
With vaccines and more testing, Fiebig believes that opportunities for traveling opportunities will increase.
