The Greek Foreign Affairs Ministry expressed its condolences for the murder of British Member of Parliament Sir David Amess on Friday.
“Deeply saddened by the tragic death of Great Britain MP Sir David Amess,” the ministry said in a tweet.
“We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues at the House of Commons and our solidarity with and the people and government of our close ally and partner UK.
“Such heinous acts have absolutely no place in our societies.”
Amess, a deputy with Boris Johnson’s party, was stabbed while attending a meeting with his constituents.
His alleged killer has been arrested and appears to have been motivated by Islamic terrorism.
