Nefeli Meg is a multi-talented comedian and one of Greece's rising stars. As an educated lawyer she became famous for presenting legal topics in a witty and easy way through her social media channels. She recently launched her own stand-up show and is one of the leading YouTubers and podcasters in Greece.

In this Greekspired podcast episode she speaks candidly about overcoming anorexia, how covid changed her path in life and why she prefers polygamy over monogamy.

She also shares her best tips to overcome stage freight and what to do to follow your dreams. Even though it was a childhood dream; becoming famous, being invited to the late-night show, and having her own stand-up comedy tour was not the plan.

Nefeli, an educated lawyer was about to move to Norway and work at the Greek embassy to peruse that career. Then Covid came and everything was put on hold.

“It is funny how things happen for a reason, I was quite disappointed at that time but looking back, not going there was the best thing that could happen to me,” she tells Greekspired.

Nefeli had always dreamt of film and comedy and applied to perform at a stand-up show during the end of her studies.

“I was so nervous, but I had my friends there and once you get the crowd going you get into a flow, making people laugh is better than having an orgasm”

Much of Nefeli’s comedy inspiration comes from her own dating life which is becoming increasingly difficult due to her increasing popularity.

“In social media I’m the girl that talks about d*cks a lot. This, and that I am very open about polygamy scares guys away.”

In the Greekspired podcast Nefeli also speaks openly about battling anorexia in her past due to a toxic boyfriend.

“He told me I looked chubby and what his body type was, so I started working out 7 days a week and limiting my calorie intake.”

For people and those with family members who might be in a similar situation Nefeli shares her advice.

“It is easier said than done, but cut negative people out of your life, and stop following instagram accounts with unrealistic body ideals,” she says.

Balancing so many acts - a comedian, a lawyer, a podcaster and soon to be a published author, Nefeli shares her tips on managing and following her dreams.

“Stop listening to other people or worry what they will think, just follow your gut.”
