There was a major disturbance on Wednesday night after a man on a flight from Paris to Athens threatened to slaughter passengers onboard.

According to Proto Thema, a passenger on Aegean flight A3613 departed from the Charles de Gaulle airport in the French capital and landed at around 22:30 at Eleftherios Venizelos Airport in the Greek capital.

About ten minutes after the plane took off, one of the passengers started shouting, singing and reciting verses from the Qur’an

Quickly, those around him moved away, visibly worried, with the flight attendants and crew chief trying to calm the man down but without success. When they approached him, in fact, he threatened to “slaughter” them, according to the same eyewitness testimony.

The crew handled the case with professionalism. The pilot informed the control tower in Athens and thus there was immediate mobilisation. When the Airbus A321 aircraft landed – without any delay, according to the schedule – police were at the scene and brought the man in.
