Police officers from the Department of Immigration Management were monitoring people’s movements from the provincial district of Kilkis-Polykastro.

Five illegal immigrants from China arrived in Thessaloniki at noon on Tuesday following the plan of a 23-year-old Pakistani trafficker. The 23-year-old was the one who had booked the tickets for the illegal immigrants whom he told to get off at the KTEL “Macedonia” station in Greece’s second city.

However, police officers monitored people’s movements from the provincial district of Kilkis-Polykastro. After the illegal immigrants got off at KTEL “Macedonia,” the 23-year-old led them to purchase tickets for city buses.

The police, on observation, established that the Pakistani was involved in trafficking the five Chinese citizens who did not have the necessary documents for their legal stay in Greece.

A mobile phone and 240 euros were confiscated.

The police announcement:

At noon yesterday (12-03-2024), on the Kilkis-Polykastro Provincial Road, police officers of the Immigration Management Department spotted a 23-year-old foreigner approaching five (5) foreigners and guiding them into a KTEL stop, where they boarded in the direction of Thessaloniki.

After they got off at KTEL “Macedonia”, the 23-year-old led the people to purchase tickets for city buses. This was followed by a check by the police, where the action of the 23-year-old was found, as the foreigners lacked documents for their legal stay in Greek territory.

A mobile phone and the sum of (240) euros were confiscated.
