Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Meets Archbishop Ieronymos in Athens

This afternoon, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew paid a visit to Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece at the Archdiocese, fostering dialogue and camaraderie between the leaders.

Expressing his gratitude for the warm reception, the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew emphasised his pleasure at meeting Archbishop Ieronymos in the Archdiocese. He extended thanks to Prime Minister Mitsotakis for the invitation to participate in the forthcoming Our Oceans Conference, highlighting his intent to advocate for environmental protection during the event. Concluding his remarks, he extended heartfelt wishes for a serene conclusion to Lent and a joyous Easter season.

In response, Archbishop Ieronymos warmly welcomed Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, acknowledging the significance of his presence and the consequential matters to be addressed. He underscored the importance of regular meetings and discussions, affirming the value of exchanging perspectives.

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew's visit to Athens was extended by the Greek government, specifically to attend and deliver the keynote address at the upcoming 9th International Our Oceans Conference scheduled to convene tomorrow at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre.
