Each country chooses aircraft that meet the needs of its leaders and are equipped with advanced safety and comfort systems. Greece's presidential aircraft is an important tool for transporting the country's more important officials with safety, comfort, and speed.
Greece has an Embraer Legacy 600, a mid-size business jet, which is used for the needs of the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister, and other high-ranking officials.

In 2022, Greece donated one of its presidential aircraft, a Gulfstream GV, to the Republic of Cyprus, strengthening ties between the two countries. The aircraft, which could transport 12 people, was used for the needs of Greek officials.
The Embraer Legacy 600 is equipped with modern communication and navigation systems, allowing passengers to work during flights. However, compared to other similar aircraft, it is not at the technological cutting edge.
Here are some other presidential aircraft used by EU political leaders:
France: Airbus A330-200
The President of France uses an Airbus A330-200, known as the “Cotam Unité.” The aircraft has an office, a meeting room, a bedroom, and a special area for the press.
It is equipped with advanced communication systems and defensive measures. Despite its age—it was built in the early 2000s—it has been upgraded to meet modern requirements.
Germany: Airbus A350-900
Germany has three Airbus A350-900s for the transportation of its top officials. These aircraft are among the most modern in their class, with lower fuel consumption and advanced safety systems.
Their interiors include a conference room and private areas for the Chancellor and staff, and they incorporate cutting-edge technology for real-time communications.
Italy: Airbus A319CJ
Italy uses an Airbus A319CJ for official travel by the President of the Republic and other dignitaries.
Despite its smaller dimensions compared to other presidential aircraft, the A319CJ offers flexibility and can land at smaller airports. It is equipped with work and rest areas and has undergone recent upgrades to improve performance and safety.
Spain: Airbus A310-300
Spain has two Airbus A310-300s, which the Prime Minister and the King use. Although these aircraft are over 30 years old, they have been modernised several times, with the latest upgrade being to the communications and navigation systems.
Despite their age, the aircraft remains reliable.
Austria: Bombardier Global 5000
Austria operates a Bombardier Global 5000, a smaller but highly versatile business jet. The Global 5000 offers a range of up to 9,630 kilometres, ideal for transatlantic travel. Its interior is designed for maximum comfort, with offices, meeting rooms and rest areas.
Belgium: Embraer ERJ-145
Belgium has an Embraer ERJ-145, which is used for the needs of the Prime Minister and the royal family. This particular aircraft is quite old, with a production year in the 1990s, but has undergone extensive upgrades, particularly in the communication systems.
