Frankie Kolonaki is a casual yet classy restaurant is set inside a historical mid-century building boasting its original character and structure while introducing decor that’s clean and fresh with earthy tones and materials including marble, wood, and stone.
“Rustic and traditional in style but daring in flavour and presentation, the venue’s coziness is a nod to a New York-style vibe a la Frank Sinatra,” say owners and restaurant entrepreneurs’ Dimitris Christoforidis and Chef Christos Athanasiadis.
This popular local joint opens every morning serving coffee, while on weekends they serve up brunch, with options for focaccia, panini, and eggs. Their daily lunch and dinner menu is a hit with their wide range of homemade bread and pasta, authentic Italian style pizza and main courses of seafood and meat.
The handmade pasta includes spaghetti alla chitarra, tagliatelle, penne, and gnocchi, while the pizza is made using certified organic flour and there is also a gluten-free option, as well as lots on the list to choose from if you are vegetarian or vegan.
While standout dishes are the Keftedakia Picante, Nino Bergese, Prosciutto Di Parma Pizza, Smoked Salmon and for a sweet end to your tasty meal, try the Pizza Banoffee (yes you read write, Banoffee pizza!)
There is also a great list of cocktails and wines from both Italy and Greece, which you can choose from.
The preparation of the dishes included in the menu, which is signed off by executive chef Christos Athanasiou and the chef de cuisine Panagiotis Moises, follows the Nice n Easy restaurants farm-to-table philosophy, using fresh produce and organic raw ingredients from Greece, hence why all the food here tastes so good!
“Dedicated to sustainable and environmentally conscious cuisine, the restaurant features a Sicilian inspired flair for old-world recipes, authentic delights and signature dishes with our classic farm-to-table ideology.”
“The relentless pursuit of the alternative, the qualitative, the substantial way of living, led us to a journey filled with flavours, aromas, sounds, and images that we felt the need to share with you,” add Christoforidis and Athanasiadis.
When in Athens and craving some authentic Italian food prepared with fresh local produce, Frankie’s is your place!
