The promoter of Australian boxer Lou Dibella has confirmed that George Kambosos will fight Vasyl Lomachenko. The fight is scheduled to take place in spring 2024.
In addition, the promoter said that, in his opinion, Kambosos will be the best in this fight, and he expects the best from his ward.
Vasyl Lomachenko was supposed to fight the Australian in the spring of 2022. But due to Russia's military aggression, the fight was cancelled. At the time, Kambosos held all the lightweight belts and was the absolute champion.
Instead of Lomachenko, the Australian met with Devin Haney, who took all the belts away from him. The rematch was also in favour of the American boxer.
The Ukrainian still got a chance to become the absolute champion of the lightweight division. However, in the 12-round fight, the judges gave the victory to Haynie. All of Lomachenko's attempts to organise a rematch came to nothing.
