Ikonomidis Joins Macarthur Bulls on Two-Year Deal

Ikonomidis Joins Macarthur Bulls for Two-Season Stint

The 29-year-old has joined the Bulls after a three-season stint at Melbourne Victory, where he won the Australia Cup in 2021 and reached the 2024 Grand Final under Tony Popovic.

Ikonomidis played half an hour in Victory's loss to Central Coast in last season's title decider and departed the club days later following the conclusion of his contract.

The former Perth Glory and Western Sydney Wanderers forward says he intends to help Macarthur achieve success across his two seasons in Campbelltown.

"It feels great. I'm super excited to join the Bulls, and I'm really looking forward to meeting my teammates. I can't wait for pre-season to start," Ikonomidis said.

"I'm excited to meet all the fans and play in front of you guys at all the home games. Hopefully, we can get lots of wins and push it as far as we can this year, both from a personal and team perspective."

With 126 Isuzu UTE A-League appearances to his name, Ikonomidis also spent a significant portion of his early career in Italy, playing for SS Lazio and US Salernitana 1919.

Ikonomidis is Macarthur's fourth new recruit of the 2023-24 season, joining former Sydney FC captain Luke Brattan and Melbourne City winger Marin Jakoliš at the Bulls. Inaugural squad member Liam Rose also returns for a second stint in Campbelltown.
