British Tourist, 71, Dies After Falling Ill While Swimming in Crete

Agia Galini, Crete – A 71-year-old British tourist tragically passed away yesterday afternoon after experiencing difficulties while swimming off the coast of Agia Galini, Crete.

The woman had been enjoying a swim in the early afternoon when she began to feel unwell. Realizing her deteriorating condition, she managed to return to shore. However, she collapsed shortly after reaching land.

Emergency services swiftly arrived at the scene and administered aid, but were unable to revive her. She was transported to Rethymnon hospital, where she was officially pronounced dead.

Local authorities, including the Port Authority of Agia Galini, have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding her death.
