Transport strike on May 1 to mark May Day

Buses, trains and the metro will be disrupted tomorrow, Tuesday, May 1, as public transport employees will participate in strike mobilisations and work stoppages, marking May Day.

Trains of the Hellenic Railways Organisation (OSE), the suburban railway (Proastiakos) and ILPAP trolley-buseswill not be running as workers have decided to hold a 24-hour strike.

The Athens metro will be in service only from 9am until 6pm and metro line 3 (blue line) will operate only until Doukisis Plakendias station. There will be no metro service to Athens International Airport.

The electric railway (ISAP)will runfrom 8am until the end of shift and busesin Athens will run only between 9am and 9pm.

Also, passenger ferries will remain docked across Greece on May Day due to a 24 hour strike, called by the Pan-Hellenic Seamen’s Federation (PNO).

The tram in Athens has not announced strike action as of yet and we will keep you up to date with any further details or changes.
