A Greek graffiti artist who goes by the name of ‘Antonis Hambas’ has painted a face of a young child planting a branch that has 102 fruits in the shape of hearts, representing the people who tragically lost their lives in the wildfires in Rafina last July.

Artist Hambas, whose painting of Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on a garbage bin went viral, has now created this touching painting in memory of the 102 souls who died in the deadly fire in Mati.

The artist painted the graffiti at a Primary School in Rafina and said that the hearts are different from each other, just like the souls that were lost in such an unfair way.

Hambas himself grew up in Mati and was very affected by the great tragedy, which is why he wanted to create something in the memory of the innocent victims who lost their lives, so as they are never forgotten.

“It’s almost a year from the tragedy in Mati …This is for Mati…102 heart fruits…we will never forget💪💪❤️❤️special thanks to municipality of Rafina,” Hambina posted on his social media pages along with an image of his work.

Greek artist Antonis Hambas uses a variety of materials and subjects and creates visual landscapes of both abstract and realistic figures and elements. Following his creative instinct, he returned to his original passion in 2009 and managed to make his presence felt through several exhibitions in Athens, Greece and at 2010 New York, USA.
