The buzzing excitement was felt in and around the arena as the biggest event of the summer, the 2019 MAD Video Music Awards was held last night at Faliro Sports Pavilion Arena.
Before the biggest musical award ceremony began, celebrities and guests walked the red carpet, turning heads with their fashion moments.
In particular two fashionistas, Athena Economakou and Mary Sinatsaki wore the same dress on purpose to make a statement. On Instagram Sinatsaki wrote “Welcome SHOCK! We appeared with the same dress on the red carpet! What a shame! Stylistic nightmare! Or just super excited about our common principle with our favourite dress @projectsoma!”
Opening the 16th Mad Video Music Awards was English pop star HRVY, followed by the announcement of the Mad Radio 106.2 Award which was presented to Eleni Foureira.
The night continued with explosive performances by TAMTA who was joined onstage by SNIK and Noizy, Helena Paparizou and her steamy collaboration with Iasonas Mandilas, Droulias Brothers with Naya, Konstantinos Argiros singing a remix of his hit song ‘Poso’ with Ivi Adamou, Eleni Foureira with 2J and the list of surprising yet amazing collaborations goes on, which had all attendees dancing in their seats.
One of Greece’s most popular bands, Melisses and pop singer Eleni Foureira were the big winners of the Mad Video Music Awards 2019, winning two awards respectively, and bringing that exciting energy onto the stage during their performances.
A special playlist award was also presented to Kaiti Garbi for her 30 years presence in the discography. The popular artist then put on a remarkable performance with Alcatrash.
The combination of one of the most famous 2019 Eurovision songs and the biggest heartthrob of Greece nearly set the arena on fire, as Luca Hänni and Vangelis Kakouriotis had everyone singing and dirty dancin’ to “She Got Me”.
Among the many highlights of the evening was the appearance of Vasilis Karras. The popular Greek folk singer was presented with this years Honorary Award before he put on an incredible remix performance with Helena Paparizou and Komis Xaotikos, which had the crowd go wild.
The night’s celebration of music was thoroughly enjoyed by all the attendees and artists, who will forever remember all the exciting performances and memories created.
