In the 1970s, when Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis (the wife of Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis) and her sister Caroline Lee Radziwill wanted to escape the cold of the east coast winters, they enjoyed some peace and sunshine in the Bahamas, at the home of ketchup mogul Jack Heinz.

Now, the three-story mansion known as Minor Cay, is on the market for $5,500,000 USD.

The five-bedroom, five-full-bathroom house is situated by the beach and surrounded on three sides by a wraparound pool.

Minor Cay is located in an exclusive gated community, and during the time Jackie O. and her sister would vacation there, neighbours included Rainier III, Prince of Monaco; automobile heir Henry Ford II; and Greek shipping magnate Stavros Niarchos.

In the 1980’s, the Heinz family sold the home to American sculptor John Safer, who spent more than twenty five years enjoying the home as his family vacation spot.

The home has since been refurbished and redecorated by renown designer Amanda Lindroth, who brought a modern sensibility to the home’s sprawling interiors.

Minor Cay is listed by Christie’s International Real Estate, who describe the property as ‘a dreamy modernist villa with panoramic views out over the water’.
