The President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou met with Gianna Angelopoulos-Daskalaki, Chairperson of the ‘Greece 2021’ Committee on Thursday.
Sakellaropoulou was briefed about the organisation of events for the 200th anniversary of the Greek War of Independence.

Angelopoulos-Daskalaki stated that there has been a plethora of proposals already submitted from cities and regions across the country, as well as from organisations and communities outside of Greece.
Sakellaropoulou thanked Angelopoulos-Daskalaki for updating her and promised to support the success of ‘Greece 2021’ efforts, despite the difficulties created by the coronavirus pandemic.
The “Greece 2021” Committee is calling on Greek diaspora organisations to participate in the commemoration initiatives and welcome them to submit proposals and ideas on how to celebrate the anniversary via the website www.greece2021.gr
