Archbishop Elpidophoros of America has expressed his well wishes for US President Donald Trump by praying for him and all other COVID-19 suffers to recover.
“We pray to God for the full recovery of [President of the United States Donald] Trump and the First Lady, and we constantly pray for everyone afflicted by the COVID19 pandemic,” he said on Twitter.

In the morning Trump went to Twitter to announce that he and First Lady Melania Trump had contracted COVID-19.
“Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!” he said.

White House Dr. Sean Conley wrote in a memorandum: “This evening I received confirmation that both President Trump and first lady Melania Trump have tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The President and First Lady are both well at this time, and they plan to remain home at the White House during their convalescence.”
At aged 74 and with a Body Mass Index of over 90, this puts Trump in the high risk category of potentially dying from the virus.
Donald Trump has clear risk factors – including his age, weight and being male – that all raise the chances of a severe coronavirus infection.
“But most people who get an infection also get better,” Dr Bharat Pankhania, from the University of Exeter medical school told the BBC.
At around 1 a.m. local time, the President’s physician, Navy Commander Dr. Sean Conley, wrote he received confirmation that Trump had contracted COVID-19.
“The President and First Lady are both well at this time, and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence,” Conley wrote.
“The White House medical team and I will maintain a vigilant watch, and I appreciate the support provided by some of our country’s greatest medical professionals and institutions,” Conley wrote.
“Rest assured I expect the President to continue carrying out his duties without disruption while recovering, and I will keep you updated on any further developments,” he wrote.
