Pete Sampras is one of the greatest players in tennis history, his 14 Grand Slam titles once seemed out of reach. The American turns 50 today, Thursday.

One of the most important players in the history of this sport turns 50 today.

Fourteen Slam titles, 286 weeks at the top of the ATP rankings, six seasons ended as number one, a sensational talent.

Before the Big Three it was he who disintegrated all records and changed the history of tennis.

An incredible rivalry with Andre Agassi that lasted a whole career.

“I’m where I am because I grew up with wooden rackets. I think children should play with wooden rackets up to the age of fourteen. It’s the only way to learn how to control your shots. The graphite, the power, all this comes later ”.

Happy Birthday Pete, Forever Champion.
