Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis receives Belgian Royalty

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and his spouse Mareva Grabowski-Mitsotaki on Monday received the Belgian royal couple, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of the Belgians, at the Maximos Mansion in Athens.

The Belgian royals are on an official visit to Greece from May 2-4, at the invitation of President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou.

Their discussion during the meeting focused on the excellent bilateral relations of Greece and Belgium, investments and especially those in the energy and renewable energy sector, migration and regional and international developments, including the war in Ukraine.

Bilateral relations were extensively discussed in a meeting between the delegations of the two countries that followed, as well as the prospects for closer cooperation in energy investments.

The prime minister referred to the government’s reforms and initiatives which have greatly increased opportunities for investment in a series of sectors, as well as action taken by Greece to diversify its energy sources and become a gateway for energy to the Balkans and Europe.
