How Djokovic, Ruud or Tsitsipas Can Get to No.1 after Australian Open

The race for No.1 on the men’s side is set to heat up again in Melbourne.

With World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz out of action due to injury, four players can overtake the Spaniard at the top of the rankings.

Here’s how the scenarios play out, per the ATP:

Casper Ruud, currently ranked third, will become No.1 if he wins the title or reaches the final with Novak Djokovic and Stefanos Tsitsipas not winning the title.

Subsequently, Djokovic and Tsitsipas can make each rise to No.1 if they win the title in Melbourne, while Alcaraz will retain the No.1 ranking if none of the above scenarios plays out.
