The airline, voted the world’s best by Skytrax, commenced flights from Mykonos International Airport on May 30, 2018.
However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the service was temporarily suspended before resuming in 2021 as part of a travel bubble.
The seasonal Doha-Mykonos route currently operates four times a week, utilizing Qatar Airways’ modern Airbus A320. The route has gained immense popularity, particularly among travellers from the Gulf region and Australia, who are drawn to the allure of Mykonos, nestled in the Cyclades Islands in the Aegean Sea.
“We are delighted to celebrate another great year of flights between Doha and Mykonos,” said VP of Sales Europe, Qatar Airways Eric Odone.
CEO of Fraport Greece, Alexander Zinell, acknowledged the airline’s contribution to the success of Mykonos as a popular summer destination, with 586 flights and 45,664 passengers served so far.
“We look forward to welcoming much more at Mykonos’ outstanding airport in the coming years,” Zinell added.
Qatar Airways currently operates flights from two airports in Greece, including three daily seasonal flights from Athens International Airport.
