The Hellenic Capital Market Commission is set to host the 49th Annual Meeting of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) in Athens from May 26 to 29. This significant event will bring together global financial leaders and experts to discuss key issues in the securities and capital markets.
As part of the meeting, a congress titled "Climate in the Center of Economy" will take place on May 29 at the Grand Hyatt hotel. The congress will address a range of critical topics including the challenges and prospects of the green transition, investor protection against online fraud, technological advancements in capital markets such as Fintech, cryptocurrencies, and digital asset markets, fiscal stability, emission credit markets, and the global expansion of capital markets.
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Finance Minister Kostis Hatzidakis will deliver speeches at the annual meeting, along with European Commissioner for Financial Services, Financial Stability, and Capital Markets Union Mairead McGuinness. The event will also feature addresses from representatives of central banks, securities commissions from various countries, and other industry specialists.
