Femicide in Greece: Elderly Man Hospitalised Under Guard After Fatally Stabbing Wife

An 81-year-old man is currently hospitalised under guard at the pathology clinic of the General University Hospital of Alexandroupolis, after fatally stabbing his 73-year-old wife earlier today.

Initial reports indicate that following the murder, the perpetrator attempted suicide by consuming detergent but is now stable and not in critical condition.

Details surrounding the motive behind the tragic incident remain unclear. However, forensic evidence from the scene revealed that the victim sustained 12 stab wounds to the left hemithorax, resulting in immediate death.

Tomorrow, authorities plan to conduct an autopsy on the body of the deceased woman to further investigate the circumstances of the crime.
