Kyrgios Extends Wimbledon Practice Offer to Recovering Djokovic

Novak Djokovic hits out at Australian Open crowd as Nick Kyrgios offers to be his bouncer

Despite recovering from a serious wrist injury that's kept him sidelined for over a year, Nick Kyrgios is showing his support for Novak Djokovic ahead of Wimbledon.

Kyrgios, who reached the Wimbledon final in 2022 only to be bested by Djokovic in a thrilling match, offered the Serbian star a chance to practice together before the tournament. This gesture of sportsmanship comes as Djokovic nurses a knee injury that forced him to withdraw from Roland Garros, casting doubt on his Wimbledon participation.

“If he wants to have a hit at Wimbledon, I wouldn’t mind at all," Kyrgios told The Canberra Times. "That’s where my level was when I left. It’d be good to get back into it."

While not yet ready for tournament play, Kyrgios sees the potential practice session as a way to ease back into the Wimbledon environment. "Just to be in that environment, not necessarily participating in the tournament, but getting around it again and feeling like normal, it would be great.”

Kyrgios, known for his electrifying playing style and outspoken personality, brings a unique flair to the tennis world. His return to the court, even if only for practice, would be a welcome sight for many fans.

The heartwarming camaraderie between Kyrgios and Djokovic adds an intriguing layer to this year's Wimbledon narrative. Whether Djokovic accepts the offer remains to be seen, but Kyrgios' gesture underscores the mutual respect these two tennis titans have for each other.
