Athens, Greece (GCT) (June 30, 2024) - The Greek National Basketball Team unveiled its final 12-man roster for the upcoming Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OQT) set to tip-off next week in Piraeus. The squad boasts a star-studded lineup, headlined by Milwaukee Bucks superstar and two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.

EuroLeague Veterans Join The "Greek Freak"

Antetokounmpo won't be alone in his quest to lead Greece back to the Olympics. The final roster features a formidable nine players with experience in the prestigious EuroLeague, showcasing the depth of talent within the Greek basketball scene. Notably absent are Michalis Lountzis (Olympiacos) and Nikos Chougkaz (formerly Panathinaikos and Peristeri), who were cut from the extended roster.

Tournament Structure

Greece will be one of four hosts for the OQT, welcoming teams like Croatia, Slovenia, New Zealand, Egypt, and the Dominican Republic. Both Slovenia and Croatia have already finalized their rosters.
