Fire Engulfs Broadway Theater Arcade in Kypseli, Athens

A devastating fire engulfed the arcade housing the Broadway Theater in the early hours of Thursday morning in the Athens district of Kypseli.

Emergency responders swiftly evacuated at least ten residents from the apartments situated above the arcade, where one woman required hospitalization due to respiratory problems.

Authorities suspect the fire originated in the basement of a cafeteria within the arcade, positioned at the junction of Patission and Agiou Meletiou streets.

A team of twenty firefighters, aided by five fire engines, worked tirelessly for six hours to suppress the blaze. Despite their efforts, the theatre is believed to have sustained irreparable damage from the fire.
