Arkalochori quake

Twenty-five teams of civil engineers were in Minoa Pediados in Heraklio, Crete early on Tuesday to conduct inspections to the buildings damaged by Monday's 5.8 Richter earthquake in the area and a series of subsequent aftershocks.

According to Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Minister Christos Stylianides, priority has been given to a fast completion of damage assessment.

He also added that from early on Tuesday an effort went underway to inform local residents affected by the tremors in order to obtain their cooperation and arrange for their stay in hotels and camps near Arkalochori.
