South Aegean Region’s TV campaign with CNN reaches 23 million travellers
The South Aegean Region’s recent TV campaign with CNN International that showcased tourism in the Cyclades and the Dodecanese, attracted millions of viewers and contributed to the destination’s promotion in the US, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
According to an announcement, the campaign that ran in November and December 2018, attracted 23 million travellers through the CNN Airport Network, which currently includes more than 60 airports in the US. The video was also broadcast on CNN EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Asia).
Marietta Papavasiliou, the Vice Governor of Tourism, Sports & Culture in the South Aegean Region of Greece, stated that they will continue and further evolve its collaboration with CNN.
“The South Aegean was the first Greek region that trusted CNN for its tourism promotion back in 2015… Through the new campaign, we have managed to promote the tourism offerings of our country to millions of viewers around the world; further improve their perception about the destination and enhance their desire to visit our islands,” she said.
The campaign has contributed to establishing a positive perception for the South Aegean islands, indicated through a CNN poll that showed that 89% of people who viewed the video could easily recall it afterward, with 79% of them stating they were motivated to seek more information. Furthermore, 83% stated that they were more likely to visit a South Aegean island in the future.
