Coronavirus in Greece: 228 cases and 4 deaths

Greek authorities have announced that a patient hospitalised at the AHEPA hospital in Thessaloniki has died from coronavirus.

This brings the death toll in the country to four, while the number of confirmed cases remains the same since Saturday, at 228.

According to details, the fourth victim was a 53-year-old man who worked at the hospital of Kastoria, northern Greece. He is the youngest recorded fatality in Greece, however he reportedly had heart problems.

On Friday the Greek government decided to take stricter measures to tackle escalating coronavirus outbreak, shutting schoolsbars, cafes, shopping malls, libraries, museums and archaeological sites for two weeks, to combat the spread of coronavirus.

Greece has also adopted precautionary measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus. This includes:
- staying at home
- avoiding meetings
- grandparents not looking after their grandchildren
- those who have symptoms to communicate with their doctor for instructions
