A massive joint police operation involving over 400 officers has resulted in the arrests of seven teenagers in southwest Sydney. The operation was launched in response to fears of an impending attack following the alleged stabbing of a Christian religious leader in Western Sydney last week.

Dubbed the Joint Counter Terrorist Team (JCTT), the police force conducted raids across the city and arrested the seven individuals. According to New South Wales Police Deputy Commissioner David Hudson, the suspects were identified as potential accomplices in the alleged terrorist incident.

"We will allege that these individuals adhere to a religiously-motivated violent extremist ideology," Commissioner Hudson stated, emphasizing the serious threat posed by the suspects to public safety. All seven arrested individuals are juvenile males.
