The Greek Salad – Η Χωριάτικη Σαλάτα

unspecified

A bilingual book for children aged 2 to 8 written by John Nikolakopoulos.

"Today is Sofia’s name day and her cousins are coming to visit.
She has to prepare a salad, but all the ingredients are busy in the Olympic games! Can she and Artemis her cat make the salad in time?"

Greek Australian Peter Kazacos, has teamed up with international award winning writer and filmmaker, John Nikolakopoulos to form the new company Grammatakia Publishers. Their vision is to introduce children to the Greek language and familiarise them with the Greek culture.

'The Greek Salad' is the first book in a series titled ‘Greek Around the House’. The ingredients are transformed into loveable characters so that the simple act of making a Greek salad becomes an engaging adventure and an educational opportunity. It’s an adventure in the kitchen that teaches kids their first Greek words using fun stories, characters and games.

Written online in English, Greek and Greeklish, no knowledge of Greek is needed for a parent to read the story in Greek to their children, and as the child grows into being able to read themselves, they can also discover the language without prior knowledge of the Greek alphabet.

The book includes contextual vocabulary stickers for children to use to stick on a board, fridge or in a book to help them remember and learn the words after reading.

As a special introductory offer, a link will be emailed to you shortly after purchase where you can go and download the whole book with audio.
