Last week, the sports journalists and members of the PSAT (Panhellenic Association of Sports Press) voted to establish the three nominees for each category for this year’s PSAT awards. The PSAT honors and nominees include all the best athletes and coaches in Greek sports for the calendar year.
In accordance with the voting results, below is a list of the three nominees (in alphabetical order) for each category for the 2016 awards.
Best Male Athlete for 2016:
Gianniotis, Spyros – Marathon Swimming
Petrounias, Eleftherios – Gymnastics (Rings)
Filippidis, Kostas – Track & Field (Pole Vault)
Best Female Athlete for 2016:
Korakaki, Anna – Shooting (Air Pistol)

Best Team for 2016:
Greek National Water Polo Team – Water Polo
Mantis Panagiotis, Kagialis Pavlos – Sailing (470)
Paschalidis Iordanis, Trigonis Kostas – Sailing (Tornado)
Best Coach for 2016:
Gemelos, Nikos – Swimming
Korakakis, Tasos – Shooting
Raftis, Dimitris – Gymnastics
Best Male Athlete with a Disability for 2016:
Konstantinidis, Thanasis – Track & Field
Mamalos, Pavlos – Weightlifting
Stefanoudakis, Manolis – Track & Field
Best Female Athlete with a Disability for 2016:

The best of the best will be announced and awarded with their honors during the PSAT’s annual event on December 19th.
