Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has not spent Christmas in Greece opting instead to spend it in the Serbian capital with his family.
Tsipras accepted an invitation by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic's to host him and his family for the Christmas holidays.
Meanwhile, from neighbouring Turkey, the head of the world’s orthodox Christian community, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, wished 2018 to be a year of peace for Palestine, Syria and the Middle East while welcoming pupils of the Greek Diaspora schools at Phanar on Monday who sang him Christmas Carols.
The Ecumenical Patriarch referred to the refugees and the Palestinian people's tragedy and expressed again his support on the preservation of the current status quo in Jerusalem, which as he said, "will be reversed with the recent decisions".
