Greece has lost its premier place in olive oil exports to Canada coming in second in the period of 2013-2016, whilst in 2017 it lost two places to Spain and Tunisia.

The news was published in a document by the Consulate General of Greece in Toronto, which underlined that there is considerable room for increased exports to the Canadian market. It is noted that Canada produces olive oil only as a kind of "substitute" oil, the so-called rapeseed/canola oil, which holds the leading position in Canadian consumer habits and sales of olive oil.
