Greece’s Defence Minister Panos Kammenos met with his Russian counterpart during his official two-day visit in Moscow.

Russian National Defence Minister told the Greek Defence Minister that his country is watching the growing influence of the United States and NATO member-states on Greece's territory with concern, and their attempts to edge closer to Russian borders.

Shoigu and Kammenos held a half-hour meeting before their delegations met for an hour and a half.

The Russian side expressed interest in cooperating in the Mediterranean area on controlling illegal arms, oil and drug sales from Middle East, a trade that funds terrorist organisations.

Kammenos said the tension between the two countries has ended, adding that he was in Russia to support the summit of the permanent bilateral committee meeting in Moscow at the end of November and the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras set for December 7.
