A bomb has exploded outside private Greek television station Skai early Monday, causing extensive damage to the building but no injuries.

Police said the blast occurred at around 2:30am outside the broadcaster’s headquarters in Athens after telephoned warning prompted authorities to evacuate the building.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility, however, reports are pointing towards far-left and anarchist organisations who have attacked news media outlets in the past.

Dozens of police investigators are collecting evidence from the scene, much of which remained cordoned off.

The blast shattered windows and damaged the front of the building, and tore through front offices. Nearby apartment buildings and cars were also damaged.

Skai is continuing their live morning news program “Symera”, with their hosts reporting from outside the building.
