Greece’s largest tobacco company Papastratos has donated 20 fire trucks to the Hellenic Fire Service, the company announced in a meeting on Wednesday between Minister of Citizen Protection Olga Gerovassili and Papastratos representatives.

Papastratos, an affiliate of Philip Morris International Inc., gave the Hellenic Service twenty 4x4 water carriers, each featuring a 600 litres capacity tank, expected to be distributed for use in islands of the Aegean Sea.

Gerovassili thanked the company for helping to meet the needs of the Hellenic Fire Service, pointing out that the state and private sectors coming together was a much-needed collaboration during the years of the financial crisis and that this donation is a good paradigm and should be imitated.
