For the 12th year in a row, the road outside the church of ‘Analipseos’ at Neos Kosmos, Athens, was transformed into what looked like a war zone, as locals celebrated the Resurrection of Christ at midnight mass on Saturday with Molotovs, fireworks and fire, that filled the streets with flames.

It has become a tradition at Neos Kosmos neighbourhood for the streets to appear as though a war has started as soon as the priest says “Xristos Anesti.”
