Christos Cholidis premiered his much anticipated new single and video on May 7, An Akoma M Agapas (If You Still Love Me).
His record label has described it as a "dynamic folk mid-tempo song" that will be included in his new upcoming album, soon to be released by Minos EMI.
The impressive video directed by Alex Konstantinidis takes place on a human chessboard, a power battle between good and evil.
Starring opposite Christos Cholidis is Marianna Painesi.
Christos was a former basketball player, however, his athletic career was cut short when he was involved in an army related accident from a plane that caused him severe serious injuries.
During his pro athlete years, he served his time in the army which became another great love and passion of his. In an interview he once said ("An den imoun oute tragoudistis, oute athlitis, tha imoun monima sto strato") that if he wasn't a singer or athlete, he would permanently be in the army; fortunately for his many fans that was not to be his fate.
After his basketball career came to a halt it was by chance he fell into modelling, which led him to his first modelling gig on Roula Koromila's show in 2003, which would change the direction of his career and life. It was there on his third and final appearance on the show's season finale that he noticed a live musical band before him. As he scanned through the band a friendly face stood out that he would soon after approach and ask how one might be able to audition to become a singer. Three months later that friendly face messaged Christos inviting him to an audition and the rest is history.
Today Christos Cholidis is one of the most popular and recognised voices of his generation. Having toured extensively and teamed with some of Greece's great legends such as
Vasilis Karras and Stamatis Gonidis, he's also had some chart-topping hits from his previous and past albums. Christos still combines his two loves, one being professionally and the other leisurely; of music and basketball. He can be seen regularly on stage performing or if you're lucky you may occasionally spot him on a basketball court shooting hoops.
Christos Cholidis as of May 3 has returned to his familiar popular base at Frangelico with Giorgios Giannias, performing every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night.
