Greece’s great athletes Giannis Antetokounmpo and Stefanos Tsitsipas have been recognised as world leading sports performers, receiving nominations for this year’s prestigious ESPY awards in the US, with the ceremony taking place on July 10.

ESPY Awards are an accolade currently presented by the American broadcast television network ABC, and previously ESPN, to recognise individual and team athletic achievements and other sports-related performances during the calendar year preceding a given annual ceremony.

Basketball legend and All-star NBA player Antetokounmpo, a starter for the Milwaukee Bucks team, received two nominations and is competing in the categories of Best Male Athlete and Best NBA Player.

While young tennis sensation and current world number 6 Tsitsipas will compete in the category of Best Tennis Player, up against the likes of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal who have received the same distinction.

Best of luck to both Giannis and Stefanos!
