Previously reported televised debate between Greek political leaders scheduled for July 1, has been cancelled according to Skai as party representatives could not agree on a format.
The debate which was going to be held six days before the country’s general elections, was going to include Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, leader of ruling SYRIZA, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, leader of the main opposition New Democracy (ND), Dimitris Koutsoumbas of the Communist Party (KKE), Fofi Gennimata of the center-left Movement for Change (KINAL) and Vasilis Leventis of the Union of Centrists.
According to reports, Kyriakos Mitsotakis wanted all parties represented in Parliament on the panel, whereas Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras wanted a second debate with the leaders going head-to-head.
