Television presenter and famous gardener Costas Georgiadis has just won this year’s Most Popular Presenter award at the Australian Logies for 2019.
Georgiadis is a well-known landscape architect and television personality. He grew up in Sydney, Australia with his Greek parents and has presented ‘Gardening Australia’ since 2012.
Georgiadis was blown away by his most popular presenter award and was very emotional as he made his acceptance speech: “SBS backed me and then SBS took me in … I’ve been fortunate enough to travel the country and meet people doing positive things.”
“To all the team have backed me from day one … thank you to all of the executives at the ABC for backing a half-man, half-hedge … this Logie is going to travel the country, it’s not collecting dust, I want it sitting on compost bins … this is about taking gardening into the future.”
Georgiadis is also one of seven stars nominated for this year’s prestigious Gold Logie alongside Eve Morey from Neighbours, Sam Mac from Sunrise, Tom Gleeson from Hard Quiz, Rodger Corser from Doctor Doctor, Amanda Keller from The Living Room and Waleed Aly from The Project.
