A 35-year-old man has been arrested by authorities for murdering his 37-year-old friend in an apartment block in Peristeri, Athens.
According to initial reports, the two friends were arguing loudly in an apartment on the first floor at Agrafitos Street in Peristeri, when the 35-year-old man grabbed a bag and started choking the victim who suffocated to death.
The fight took place after midnight, with neighbours alerting police after they heard loud screams.
Officers arrived immediately and found the victim dead at the scene, with the 35-year-old telling police “I killed him.”
According to local media, the assailant is said to be suffering from psychological problems.
